Immunology lab and scientific expertise

Scientific Expertise

Wet lab fluency meets computational depth.

Most bioinformaticians have never touched a pipette. I have. I've run IHC and IF staining on hundreds of tissue sections, optimized ELISA protocols, troubleshot Western blots, set up flow cytometry panels from scratch, and prepped 10x Genomics scRNA-seq libraries. That changes how I analyze your data. When I see a cluster of cells with high mitochondrial content, I do not just filter them out. I ask whether your tissue dissociation protocol might be stressing certain cell types. That context changes everything.

Immunology

I specialize in immune cell biology: T cell subset dynamics, myeloid cell heterogeneity, cytokine signaling, and host-pathogen interactions. If your experiment involves the immune system, I do not need a primer. My PhD research centers on these systems and I have run the experiments by hand.

Molecular & Cellular Biology

Whether you are dissecting signaling pathways, mapping gene expression landscapes, or validating protein expression, I help clarify mechanisms of action at the cellular and molecular level, combining experimental intuition with rigorous data-driven analysis.

Host-Pathogen Systems

My experience in infectious disease models, including viral, bacterial, and parasitic infections, helps uncover host responses, pathogen adaptations, and therapeutic opportunities. I understand both the experimental design and the downstream analysis needed to make these studies publishable.

Experimental Design

The best time to involve a computational biologist is before you collect data. How many cells per sample? How many biological replicates? Is your planned comparison powered to detect the effect size you care about? I help you get the design right before you book sequencing time or submit your animal protocol.

What this means for you

Faster analysis with fewer dead ends. I will not deliver a pretty UMAP full of biologically implausible cell type assignments. I deliver results that make sense when you hold them up against what you know from the bench.
